LUTINA PHOTOCHROMIC
Traditional photochromic lenses excel at adapting to changing light conditions, darkening in response to UV rays for outdoor protection. However, many standard photochromic options offer limited blue light filtering, a crucial consideration in today's digital age. Most photochromic lenses in the market still utilize a clear lens material.
Tokai addresses this limitation with its innovative Lutina Photochromic technology. By incorporating a photochromic layer on the front of their UV420 Blue Filter lens material (Lutina). Lutina provides comprehensive protection against both harmful UV rays and the potentially detrimental effects of blue light. This integrated approach eliminates the need for separate blue light-filtering coatings and photochromic lens, ensuring consistent and effective protection without compromising on looks.

With the Lutina Photo lenses, Tokai has decided to take advantage of cutting-edge technology to combine the advantages of Lutina with the dimming capabilities of photochromic lenses.
The result is versatile and comfortable lenses, which combine the advantages of protection from UV rays and high-energy violet light with the elimination of the hassles associated with changes in brightness. The transition between different weather conditions (from cloudy to sunny) and the transition between closed and open environments is made smooth and comfortable by the rapid activation speed of the lenses.
In bright conditions, grey quickly changes from 10% to about 85%, brown from approximately 10% to 77% absorption in transmittance range.

Existing photochromic lenses with UV420 blue light filters often exhibit a noticeable yellow tint. Tokai's Lutina Photochromic lenses, however, are engineered to significantly reduce this yellowing, resulting in truer color perception and enhanced visual clarity.
