Ground Breaking eye protection lenses

Tokai(Japan) recently released a new ground-breaking lens material that filters out 94% of high energy Ultra-Violet rays. (HEV ~400nm-420nm). Numerous years of intensive research led Tokai researchers to pin-point HEV as the cause of fatigue & degeneration in the eye. (HEV is mainly emitted by electronic devices.)

Lutein, which exist naturally in our eyes, absorbs the HEV under normal circumstances. However, as the Lutein depletes, HEV triggers harmful oxidative processes in the eye & hasten the formation of eye diseases such as macular degeneration (AMD) and cataracts.

Unfortunately, Lutein cannot be produced within the body. The only way to increase Lutein concentration is by consuming, either green leafy vegetables or supplements containing Lutein. However, in this digital age, Lutein depletion occurs at a much faster rate than replenishment.

Therefore, Tokai's Lutina lenses aim to be the protective shield that absorbs 94% of HEV, hence preserving the Lutein concentration in our eyes and delaying the occurrence of eye diseases due to Lutein depletion.
